About the Rivers Working Group:   The Rivers Working Group is one of several new working groups formed under the R.I. Habitat Restoration Team. The mission of the group is to restore river ecosystems throughout the Narragansett Bay Region (NBR) through physical improvements such as dam removal and other improvements to aquatic habitats.  The group’s approach is to improve state and local planning, policy, law and funding in order to increase the quantity and extent, while improving the quality of river restoration projects throughout NBR.  The Rivers Working Group is co-chaired by the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program and Save The Bay; membership is open to all stakeholders; all meetings and documents are open to the general public.  Meeting notices and other communications are managed through the public listservs RI-RESTORATION and NBAY-L.  To join the Rivers Working Group, subscribe to the listservs, or for contact information participants, call Thomas Ardito at NBEP, (401) 874-6492.
