Internship Opportunity: NBEP Seaweed Monitoring Internship
Looking for an internship opportunity? The Narragansett Bay Estuary Program is hiring a Seaweed Monitoring Intern!
The Seaweed Monitoring Intern will support The Seaweed Ecology and Assessment Collaborative (SEAC-RI), which was established to understand the biodiversity of macroalgae, the role it plays in the ecosystem, and how it impacts other habitats throughout the Narragansett Bay region.
The intern will be financially compensated at $17 per hour for undergraduate students and $22 per hour for graduate students. The intern will be placed with RIDEM for field work and will have access to a desk for office work at NBEP in Providence (hybrid is also possibility). The intern must be enthusiastic about being outdoors, detail-oriented, capable of lifting up to 30 lbs, flexible with work times, and comfortable in or on the water and getting wet. Interns must also have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
Application review will begin on July 16th, 2025 and the position will remain open until filled, likely starting in August 2025 and continuing through the fall.
